Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has opened up on the belief in the Old Trafford dressing room after the 2-1 win over Aston Villa. United are now level on points with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.
Wan-Bissaka provided the assist for the opener in the game as he delivered for Anthony Martial to head home in the 40th minute.
Aston Villa came back in the game and equalised in the 58th minute through Bertrand Traore.
United got a controversial penalty straight after though as Paul Pogba went down in the box from minimal contact.
Bruno Fernandes made no mistake with the spot kick to go level on points with Liverpool at the top of the table.
Wan-Bissaka was delighted with the win and opened up on the belief United now have.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised Paul Pogba for his performance against Villa.
The World Cup winner looked somewhere near back to his best as he dominated the midfield.
He said: “He’s getting better and better. I think he played well today. They are a physical side and Paul’s one of these guys who can get hold of it for us.
“Don’t get me wrong I’m delighted with the three points and the performance, but there’s always stuff to improve on. Those extra two points are important.
“We’ve improved. I think the league and the season is going to be so tight. We’ve just got to keep working and improving as a team.
“Every time you win a game you take one step further. You’ve just got to accumulate the points. They all count the same.
“We’ve got a big game on Wednesday against City, I’m not even thinking [about playing Liverpool] yet.”
United return to action next Wednesday when they play their Carabao Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Old Trafford.
