Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants three summer signings, according to reports. The Norwegian has steered his side to second in the Premier League table, while they also remain in contention for FA Cup and Europa League glory. And he’s supposedly set to sit down for talks with Ed Woodward over their business in the next couple of weeks.
Solskjaer has spent well at United.
While Odion Ighalo was a miss, and the jury remains out on Donny van de Beek and Daniel James, the majority of his signings have fared well.
Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Bruno Fernandes, Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles have all made positive impacts at Old Trafford, while hopes are high Facundo Pellistri and Amad will shine too.
Despite that, however, the Norwegian wants more.
While they’ve substantially closed the gap on Liverpool, Manchester City are running away with the Premier League title.

“We will see where he ends up. As a Norwegian and someone who has worked with him, it is of course great that he is doing so well.”
Haaland also teased a potential move away from Dortmund, admitting he loves the Champions League – something the club aren’t guaranteed for next term.
“It was good to score goals,” he said.
“I love the Champions League and when I saw Mbappe score the hat-trick yesterday I got free motivation, so thanks to him.
“He scored some nice goals and I got a good boost from him.”
On the right wing, United are expected to go in for Jadon Sancho again.
They spent the whole of the summer chasing the 20-year-old but, after Dortmund demanded £108million, landed Cavani instead.
Sancho has endured a tricky campaign at the Westfalenstadion but has returned to form in recent weeks and, on Wednesday night, sparkled in his side’s Champions League win over Sevilla.
And regarding a centre-back, the report claims United have been scouting Sevilla powerhouse Jules Kounde.
Several other names have also been linked, however.
Sergio Ramos could move to Old Trafford on a free transfer, with the Spain international expected to leave Real Madrid behind after a 16-year spell at the Bernabeu.
His team-mate, Raphael Varane, may be sold on the cheap this summer with his contract due to expire in 2022.
And, closer to home, United have been linked with Brighton star Ben White – who has impressed at the Amex Stadium ever since his return from Leeds.
It’s claimed Solskjaer and Woodward will sit down in the coming weeks to gauge the mood on new signings from either end.
But, if United get things right, they could very well pose stern competition for City when it comes to winning the title next season.
