Liverpool news:Jurgen Klopp in fiery tunnel faceoff with Sean Dyche amid Burnley VAR drama | Football | Sport

Jurgen Klopp was pictured having a heated row with Sean Dyche at half-time in the match between Liverpool and Burnley on Thursday evening. Liverpool had been frustrated in their efforts to break down Burnley’s rigid defence in the opening 45 minutes, with Klopp being animated on the touchline trying to get more out of his side.

Other than Divock Origi striking the bar while one-on-one with Nick Pope, Liverpool barely challenged the Burnley goalkeeper.

Klopp was clearly eager to get back in the chanigng room and talk tactics with his team as early as possible as he began rushing down the tunnel before the half-time whistle had been blown.

But then chaos ensued on the pitch as players from both teams came together amid some confusion when the referee had blown his whistle.

Meanwhile, Klopp had come back out on to the sidelines before chasing after Dyche down the tunnel.

Ashley Barnes, who had earlier been shown a yellow card for a late foul on Thiago, was involved in the thick of it with Liverpool players surrounding the Burnley forward.

Replays appeared to show Fabinho and Barnes coming together in a typical aerial challenge for the ball with VAR taking a look at the incident.

Barnes hit the deck with Fabinho then being shown a yellow card by Mike Riley and while the drama continued on the pitch, Klopp was clearly furious with something said between him and Dyche.

The Liverpool boss raced down the tunnel to confront his opposite number and he could be seen gesturing angrily.

Klopp’s frustration on the touchlines may well have stemmed from Liverpool’s lack of attacking threat in the first half.

They have looked toothless going forward recently having failed to score since the 1-1 draw against West Brom last month.

Klopp attempted to change things up against Burnley with both Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino dropped to the bench.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Origi came into the starting line-up, while Joel Matip also made his return.
