Manchester City are looking to maintain their one-point lead at the top of the Premier League table when they face Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola’s side are fresh from a thrilling 4-3 victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first-leg and will look to take one step closer to a fourth league title in five years with a victory against Jesse Marsch’s outfit.

In the reverse fixture between the two sides, City emphatically thumped Leeds 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium. But since then, there’s been a change of guard in West Yorkshire and the players are now looking re-invigorated and far more solid under their new management.

Last season, behind closed doors, City drew 1-1 at Elland Road, with Raheem Sterling’s early opener cancelled out by Rodrigo’s strike on the hour mark. With the home support behind them this time around, the visit to Leeds could become a daunting prospect for City and Guardiola at a crucial time.

It means he’ll want his key players fit and available for the remainder of the season, so here’s the latest on the injury front ahead of the Leeds clash:

Injury: Ankle

Possible return date: Unknown

What Guardiola has said: The manager confirmed the right-back was definitely out of the clash against Leeds before providing a worrying update on his availability in the future. When asked whether we’d see Walker again this season, Guardiola said: “I don’t know right now. I’m not worried at all, he’s injured unfortunately for all of us and him especially. I must focus on the rest of the players.

Pep Guardiola will be hoping to have Kyle Walker back sooner rather than later

Injury: Hamstring

Possible return date: Real Madrid (A)

What Guardiola has said: When prompted about Stones’ situation, Guardiola confirmed: “For tomorrow he’s out and we’ll see for Wednesday.”
