Mohamed Salah reaction speaks volumes as Klopp rages at Caicedo tackle | Football | Sport

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was far from impressed from the sidelines as he watched Ryan Gravenberch get stretchered off after a heavy challenge by Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo. The Reds already have a lengthy injury list which has added another key man at Wembley in the first half of the Carabao Cup final.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was fuming on the sidelines as he called out the referee for his inaction, as VAR deemed Caicedo’s tackle not a red card offence.

After 20 minutes Caicedo missed the ball completely and his studs caught the top of Gravenberch’s foot, with Liverpool given an advantage in play though it did not come to fruition.

But the Ecuadorian was not shown a yellow, despite VAR checking the decision to determine whether he would be given a red card at Wembley.

Klopp ranted on the touchline as he was bemused by the decision not to punish Caicedo any further, with Salah in the stands similarly outraged. He could be seen pointing at where the foul took place and had an aghast look on his face, sat next to Darwin Nunez.

The duo were not part of the playing squad as two of the 11 players already unavailable for Liverpool, alongside Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai among others.
