Manchester United ride their recent wave of momentum to Kenilworth Road this evening, where Luton Town will be looking to cause trouble for another Premier League giant. Express Sports runs through Erik ten Hag’s likely starting line-up in search of a fifth consecutive victory in all competitions.

Goalkeeper: Onana

Andre Onana trails Jordan Pickford by just one clean sheet in the race to clinch the Premier League Golden Glove in his maiden season at United.

He kept one of his clean sheets this term against Luton in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford after Victor Lindelof’s second-half strike sealed a 1-0 win.

Defence: Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Shaw

There are concerns over Luke Shaw ahead of the trip to Luton after he withdrew at half-time in last Sunday’s 2-1 triumph against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Ten Hag admits his left-back is a doubt while also claiming United are hopeful he will make it and not leave him with just one full-back again.

Diogo Dalot is now firmly the Dutchman’s first-choice right-back. He has been excellent, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka still out through injury.

Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire started together for the first time under Ten Hag against Villa and performed admirably. They should pair up again at Kenilworth Road in Lisandro Martinez’s absence.

Midfield: Casemiro, Mainoo, Fernandes

Scott McTominay was the hero from the bench in the monumental win at Villa in the race for the Champions League spots. However, he will likely remain among the substitutes again from the get-go.

Casemiro still looks to be getting back up to speed after his lengthy injury over the winter. The Brazilian, who turns 32 this month, has picked up seven yellow cards and one red card in his last eight United appearances.

He is almost a certain starter at the foot of Ten Hag’s midfield, though, with Kobbie Mainoo now alongside him as an indispensable part of the Dutchman’s plans.

Bruno Fernandes will captain the side as usual and attempt to turn Casemiro and Mainoo’s work in midfield into attacks.

Attack: Garnacho, Rashford, Hojlund

As part of an unchanged team from the win at Aston Villa, Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line again amid his hot streak of goalscoring form.

The 21-year-old has scored in each of his last five appearances in all competitions, registering six goals and two assists in his last seven.

Marcus Rashford’s goals still aren’t coming at the rate he’d like, but his performances have dramatically improved since the end of 2023. He should keep his spot on the left.

And Alejandro Garnacho also appears undroppable, having found his true calling on the right flank, starting United’s last 20 games.
