Liverpool transfers: Klopp comments hint that Reds could replicate Arsenal error | Football | Sport

Of those that haven’t, Arsene Wenger was the man to have won the most, without ever going back to back.

And Liverpool’s attempt is beginning to look eerily similar to Wenger’s Arsenal after going unbeaten in 2003/04.

Similarly to Liverpool’s summer, the Gunners attempted to keep the nucleus of the squad together, whilst making very slight changes.

The Liverpool boss sanctioned moves for Kostas Tsimikas, Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara in the summer, with all three suffering their own injury issues.

Wenger also made just a trio of a signings, before eventually relinquishing their title to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.

On the whole, it appears that the champions are in danger of standing still. Klopp recognises the need for improvements this month and it may be pivotal to their hopes of another trophy.
