Diego Costa is a free agent after being released by the La Liga side last month. The Spain striker has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Tottenham and Wolves since, with several clubs hoping he can recapture the form he showed for Chelsea.
Former Premier League striker Emile Heskey has analysed Arsenal, Tottenham and Wolves’ chances of signing Diego Costa.
The ex-Atletico Madrid frontman is a free agent after being released by the La Liga side last month.
Costa is now being linked with a return to England, having excelled at Chelsea for three years before rejoining Atletico.
The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Wolves have been linked with the 32-year-old.
“You can wipe off Arsenal. I don’t think he fits into the way Mikel Arteta likes to play – everyone’s got to be mobile and willing to run around.
“I’m not saying he can’t do that but, on the scale Arteta would probably want, I don’t think Diego Costa would suit that.
“Tottenham; with Harry Kane, is (Costa) willing to sit and wait for an opportunity? Probably not. At 32, do you have time to wait? Probably not.
“And, at 32, you can’t just keep coming in and out of games, you need the consistency to get yourself up to speed.”
Costa scored just 12 times in 61 La Liga games in his second spell at Atletico, a far worse return than he showed at Chelsea or in his first spell at Atletico.
It remains to be seen if he can recapture the form he showed to help fire Chelsea to two Premier League titles and become a Champions League finalist with Atletico.
