West Ham are reportedly keen on signing Lassina Traore from Ajax as David Moyes looks to bring in another striker. The Hammers have surprisingly agreed to take a loss on £45million record-signing Sebastien Haller, who is set to seal a return to the Eredivisie.
Haller played under Ajax boss Erik ten Hag during his time at FC Utrecht, before joining Eintracht Frankfurt.
Now the Frenchman is set to reunite with the Ajax boss in Amsterdam, after a £22million fee was agreed with the Dutch giants.
Haller is due to fly to the Netherlands today for a medical, after an agreement was reached this morning.
It means West Ham are likely to bring a replacement through the door shortly, as they look to ease the pressure on Michail Antonio.
He is currently injured though and Ajax’s shortage of fit and available forwards is partly why they have launched a move for Haller.
Wolves are also said to be interested in Traore as a potential replacement for Raul Jimenez, following his fractured skull.
However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have now decide to recall Patrick Cutrone from his loan spell with Fiorentina.
Ajax are keen to keep Traore though and are hopeful he will sign a new deal.
Moyes is thought to be keen on the controversial return of Marko Arnautovic.
The Austrian is currently playing in the Chinese Super League with Shanghai SIPG following his move from the London Stadium in the summer of 2019.
West Ham fans were left angered by the manner of his departure to the Far East, six months after he signed a contract extension.
THe Hammers board are said to be against the return of Arnautovic, who took his game to the next level as a striker under Moyes.
