Liverpool are expected to make some signings in the January transfer window with several members of their squad suffering injuries in the opening months of the season, most notably to centre-back pairing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez. But which players could they get for free to plug those holes in Jurgen Klopp’s side?
If it’s experience at the highest level and a cool head at the back, then look no further than ex-Real Madrid man Garay.
Liverpool need a new centre-back in January with all three of their current senior options out injured.
And Garay would certainly fill a gap, even if it was only till the end of the season.
The only down side is he’s 34 and probably not the sharpest any more.
Brazilian defender Uvini has spent the last three years pottering around in the Saudi league as his career appears to dwindle.
But a fair few years ago the 29-year-old was playing for Napoli and Brazil, and even joined Tottenham on loan in 2012.
Uvini seems to be the sort of centre-back that never really reached his full potential, but could he save his career with a move to Liverpool?
