Pep Guardiola could give an injury update on John Stones and Nathan Ake, as both limped out of Manchester City’s win over Brighton this week.

City are back in action on Saturday as Roy Hodgson’s Watford visit the Etihad, looking to keep alive their slim survival chances. Guardiola confirmed that Stones felt tightness in his muscle while Ake had a twisted ankle against Brighton, causing both to be replaced in the game.

Ruben Dias made a welcome return from injury, but Kyle Walker was missing again and Guardiola could offer an update on the right-back, too.

Guardiola could also be asked about Manchester United’s appointment of Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag, while he has always been full of admiration for Watford boss Roy Hodgson, as the pair face each other on Saturday. If City win, they can go four points ahead of Liverpool before Jurgen Klopp’s men face Everton on Sunday.
