Manchester United will reportedly consider offers for Antony in the summer transfer window, with the Red Devils said to be planning a squad exodus at the end of the campaign. Antony has failed to impress since joining United two years ago and is yet to score or provide a single assist in the Premier League this season.

He was overlooked by Erik ten Hag for United’s defeat to Fulham over the weekend, with teenage prospect Omari Forson getting the nod to start on the wing instead. It seems as though Antony’s time at Old Trafford may soon be up amid suggestions that he could be made available for a summer exit.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the 24-year-old is one of several players who could be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season. The Red Devils are thought to be willing to consider offers for Antony, but it is unlikely they will be able to recoup the £81million fee they paid to sign him from Ajax two summers ago.

Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial and Tom Heaton will all be out of contract in the summer, meaning they are set to leave unless new deals can be agreed over the coming months. Meanwhile, the contracts of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Facundo Pellistri are set to expire in 2025, giving United a dilemma over whether to cash in or risk losing them for nothing in a year’s time.

Sofyan Amrabat is set to be returned to Fiorentina after his season-long loan, with a permanent deal not on the cards as things stand. Casemiro is also said to be facing an uncertain future at United having generated interest from the Saudi Pro League ahead of the summer window.

Mason Greenwood is another player who could leave Old Trafford at the end of the season when he returns from his loan spell with Getafe. However, there is a chance that he will be given a lifeline after Sir Jim Ratcliffe confirmed that a fresh decision will be made later this year.

The report adds that Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek and Hannibal Mejbri are expected to be made available for sale, although the future of Ten Hag could have a bearing on whether Sancho stays or goes. Benfica will have the option to buy Alvaro Fernandez, who is currently spending the season on loan with the Portuguese heavyweights.

Ratcliffe, who is said to have taken control of football operations at United, recently stressed the importance of player sales in order to ensure the club falls in line with Premier League financial regulations. He said: “It’s clearly a really critical part of running a football club and you have to think about how you can manage FFP to the benefit of the club.

“There are different ways in which you can do that. But ultimately, FFP says you have to operate the club within its own means. And, effectively, it takes into account your prior expenditure, and the club has spent quite heavily in the last couple of seasons, so that does impact FFP going forward because they’ve used quite a large part of their allowance if you like.

“We need to be quite clear in the summer as to the extent of it. I don’t know the full answer to that question at the moment. It’s obviously related to sales as well as purchases and so we need to get our heads around that well before the summer window so we understand the number.”
