has been given a strong vote of confidence by legend despite enduring a turbulent first season at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are currently clinging onto the top-half of the , with co-owner Todd Boehly set to make a decision on Pochettino’s future this summer.

Chelsea’s mini-revival continued on Saturday with an impressive 1-1 draw away at Manchester City. They are now unbeaten in three games ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool this weekend.

But Pochettino’s future is far from assured, with the Argentine only managing 10 wins from 25 Premier League games this campaign as the Blues lag way behind those chasing European qualification.

Boehly is likely to take a range of opinions into account when deciding whether to stick or twist at the end of the season. During a recent appearance on former team-mate John Obi Mikel’s podcast, Hazard made it clear where his allegiances lie.

“As a Chelsea fan, you want them to be first,” he said. “You want them to win every game. I know they have a good manager, I love Mauricio Pochettino. I think he can bring the team back to where it should be, but the Premier League is so hard.”

The opinion of Hazard, who racked up more than a century of goals and two Premier League titles during his time in west London, should carry plenty of weight with Boehly and the rest of the Stamford Bridge boardroom.

“In the first two seasons with him it was amazing,” he explained. “In the first year, the team was new, so it was just the beginning, and then the second season with Jose we won the league and Carabao Cup. Then the third season we started to have problems, we lost games and then the relationship started to go a little bit.

“But I have huge respect for him and what he did during his whole career as a manager. Now I can tell my kids that Jose Mourinho was my manager for two and a half years, which is a good story.”
