FA Cup action returns following the introduction of Premier League and Championship club in the third round. There was also some traditional ‘giant-killing’ as non-league Chorley got the better of a depleted Derby side, while League Two’s Crawley stunned Leeds.
Chorley go to Wolves in the fourth round as Crawley take on Bournemouth.
However, the most eye-catching tie of the round sees Manchester United host Liverpool, just a week on from their Premier League stalemate.
Holders Arsenal will look to continue their recent resurgence with a tough trip to Southampton, while Manchester City go to fourth-tier Cheltenham.
Prize money for this season’s FA Cup was cut because of the coronavirus pandemic.
