Arsenal transfer news: Four attacking targets on Mikel Arteta and Edu’s radar | Football | Sport

Mikel Arteta’s January transfer kitty is expected to hinge on whether he can offload several first-team players this month. The Gunners boss is keen to add to his squad, particularly at the top end of the field, as he looks to build on the recent turnaround as Arsenal eye a European place. Express Sport looks at four attackers that could arrive this month, permitting Edu puts his hands into his pockets…

Emiliano Buendia

If Norwich are set to demand up to £40million as reported, then the Gunners are likely to cool their interest.

The Argentine has impressed Arteta and the Arsenal hierarchy, both in the Premier League and Championship in the past 18 months.

Arsenal would be willing to offload Reiss Nelson or Joe Willock as a sweetener in the deal and Buendia wants the move.

There are said to be other names ahead of him on Arsenal’s shortlist though but this deal could happen this month.

JUST IN: Arsenal blocked Emile Smith Rowe transfer clause request under Unai Emery

Arsenal have reportedly changed their stance on adding Isco to their ranks, following the emergence of Emile Smith Rowe.

The Real Madrid man was being considered for a potential loan until the youngster forced his way into Arteta’s team.

He hasn’t looked back since and has been an integral part of the Gunners’ last three successive wins against Chelsea, Brighton and West Brom.

Long term, a No 10 is still on the agenda but for now Arteta appears happy to reward Smith Rowe for his hard work.

Patson Daka

The RB Salzburg striker has emerged as a possible replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, should the Gunners decide not to extend his contract.

Talks with the Frenchman are not scheduled to start until the summer at the earliest.

Daka is now on Arsenal’s radar and would cost around £20million.

His representatives are keen to earn him a move to the Premier League and as Salzburg showed with Erling Braut Haaland and Takumi Minamino respectively, they will sell in January.
