Solomon can play anywhere across the frontline, and would add the spark that the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have struggled to create this season.
One man who has managed to create a spark for Arsenal’s attack since returning from injury is Gabriel Martinelli.
The Brazilian suffered a huge injury scare in the warm-up to Arsenal’s FA Cup third-round tie with Newcastle on Saturday.
But a scan on Monday has shown that Martinelli suffered no major damage, no doubt much to the relief of Arteta, who said that he was very upset to see his rising star limp off once again in serious pain.
