Arsenal decide Odsonne Edouard transfer stance as West Ham eye £35m Celtic raid this month | Football | Sport

Arsenal have been linked with Celtic hotshot Odsonne Edouard as Mikel Arteta eyes strengthening his attack at the Emirates. West Ham have stepped up their efforts to snap up the Frenchman, though, with David Moyes prepared to fork out £35m for his services.

Arsenal’s stance on Edouard has been unmoved by West Ham’s position, despite the fact they are ramping up their efforts to snap up the striker.

The Celtic star has been in relatively decent form for the Hoops this campaign, despite the club’s woes he has netted 11 in 23 appearances.

It comes off the back of his best season, where he scored 28 times for Neil Lennon’s side – totalling 74 goals in 151 games in Glasgow throughout his time.

It led to strong interest from several teams in the Premier League, including Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham.

According to the Daily Star, the Hammers are set to ramp up their efforts to snap up the former Paris St-Germain star.

Moyes is happy to sanction a £35m bid for the former France Under-21 international, with the club desperate for a striker.

The Scotsman has watched Edouard on several occasions and believes he would be the ideal man to fit into his tactics.

After losing Sebastien Haller for £20m to Ajax and amid Michail Antonio’s fitness problems, a forward is a priority in east London right now.

There have been many linked, including Sevilla ace Youssef En-Nesyri who has scored four in his last two appearances.

But after a bid was rejected for the Morocco international, Edouard is now the top target.

Arsenal are interested in the 23-year-old, as well, but the Daily Star go on to state that they are sticking to their plan of evaluating a transfer in the summer.

Edouard is desperate to leave Parkhead and wants a shot in the Premier League.

However, he is in no rush this season and is prepared to wait until a top-six side are ready to make a transfer when the summer transfer window opens.

West Ham and Arsenal are also boosted by the news that he is eyeing a move to London, the Daily Star further report.

Celtic are looking at a potential sale with Edouard entering the final 12 months of his contract at the end of the season.

To avoid losing him for nothing, the Bhoys want to make as much cash as possible with his market value still high at the moment.
